KHARKIV, UKRAINE, Feb 7 — Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson signed a partnership agreement between the cities, said Ihor Terekhov on his Telegram channel.

According to Johnson, Dallas condemns Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The mayor of Dallas also expressed his readiness to develop cooperation with Kharkiv in various fields.

“The next step is to develop a comprehensive plan for future cooperation, where clear areas of interaction between our cities and the expected results of joint work are defined,” Terekhov wrote.

After signing the agreement, the mayors agreed to exchange city flags and place them in city halls, the City Council reported.

“I will make an exception to the rule, and your city’s flag will stay there as long as the war is on. And after the victory, you will come to our city, and we will lower this flag together,” Johnson said.

Dallas became the 32nd sister city of Kharkiv and the 3rd American city on this list. In April 2022, Kharkiv renounced five Russian sister cities.
