Artworks by 19 artists are on display at the renovated Künstlerhaus, home to one of the world’s most famous contemporary art museums, Albertina Modern.

The exhibition reflects Ukrainian artists on the present and captures their sense of current life.

During the exhibition, you can also buy works by Ukrainian artists. All funds from the sale will be transferred to the rehabilitation foundation for women in the military, created by the Ukrainian NGO Women’s Veterans Movement.

  • In early July, a project was launched featuring twelve artists worldwide. The project’s first segment aimed to protest against Russian aggression and utilized traditional Ukrainian culture and the distinctive Ukrainian voice. Among the artists, Fred Tomaselli incorporated Ukrainian embroidery codes into his artwork for The New York Times’ front page. Marina Abramovic showcased her work centred around healing traumas caused by totalitarian regimes, while Erwin Wurm, Jonathan Meese, and Marcel Dzama created pieces that challenged modern political ideologies and values.
  • ART ON THE BATTLEFRONT’s second part, in collaboration with the Natalia Cola Foundation and supported by Ukraine’s Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, features exclusive works by Ukrainian artists invited by Vogue Ukraine. The artworks span various mediums, including digital art, sculpture, and painting. The project brings together a diverse range of talented artists, such as Mykhailo Alekseenko, Petro Bevza, Julia Beliaeva, Bohdan Burenko, Andriy Bludov, Vasylyna Vrublevska, Petro Gronskyi, Vasyl Grublyak, Denys Metelin, Sergei Zapadnia, Yuriy Koval, Vitalii Kravec, Nikita Kravtsov, Volodymyr Manzhos (WaOne), Stepan Ryabchenko, Yelena Yemchuk, Vitaly Protosenya, Yuriy Sivirin. The artists’ small- and large-scale works reflect their emotional states and contemplation of the new reality. Their creations explore the present moment and remind us that Ukrainians fight on multiple fronts – military, diplomatic, and cultural.

The editorial board of Ukrainian Vogue initiated the exhibition, resulting from a virtual art project of the same name. Admixer, Künstlerhaus, Office Ukraine, and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy are the exhibition partners.
