The Russian army conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the Kupyansk sector near Synkivka, Kharkiv region. This is stated in the evening update of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on November 8.

In the Slobozhanskyi direction, Russians maintain their presence in the border areas, continue shelling settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation and mine the area near the state border of Ukraine. Kozacha Lopan, Vovchansk and Vetarynarne in Kharkiv region came under artillery and mortar fire.

Approximately 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire in the Kupyansk direction, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka and Berestove in Kharkiv Oblast. The situation in Eastern and Southern Ukraine remains difficult. There were 57 combat engagements over the last day.
