KHARKIV OBLAST, UKRAINE, JAN 12 — Russian troops continue to advance in the area of Synkivka.

According to the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, Russians are trying to push Ukrainian units out of the Kupiansk forest and capture Synkivka. Their main goal is to block Kupiansk.

“Thanks to the actions of our defenders, the enemy is suffering significant losses. Nevertheless, it is trying to increase its efforts at the expense of human resources,” the statement reads.

Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, also commented on the situation in the Kupiansk district. According to him, during the active weeks of assault operations, Ukrainian defenders were repelling 15 to 20 enemy assaults daily. One assault attack involves 10 to 20 units of armored vehicles, including tanks, and armored personnel carriers, as well as about 300 Russian soldiers.
