UKRAINE, Apr 16 — In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian troops did not conduct assault operations over the past day, informed the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine about this in a morning report.

Over the past day, up to 104 combat clashes took place along the frontline. Russia launched 16 missiles, 31 airstrikes, and fired 79 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas.

Oleh Syniehubov, Kharkiv region’s Governor, said to Gwara Media that it’s calm in the Kupiansk direction mainly because Russians are busy rotating their units to resume assault operations. He added that Russian units that were on the axis before were destroyed by Ukrainian soldiers.

In the Slobozhanskyi direction, in the border areas, the Russian military conducts intense sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to more dangerous directions and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod Oblast.

According to the Situation Center of the Ministry of Defense, Russian troops shelled 13 regions of Ukraine over the past day. They attacked a total of 100 settlements and 64 infrastructure facilities with various types of weapons, such as mortars, artillery, tanks, multiple launch rocket systems, ballistic missile systems, anti-tank guided missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles, and strategic and tactical aviation.
