UKRAINE, Aug 7 — Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the Russian mine explosions have killed 128 Ukrainian farmers, the Verkhovna Rada reports.
Kharkiv Oblast is one of the most heavily mined regions. More than 570,000 hectares of land in the Kharkiv region need to be inspected for mines and explosive devices after the Russian occupation.
According to the Ukrainian Deminers Association, the mine threat remains severe in the Kherson, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Donetsk regions. Ukraine needs $37 billion to clear land mines.
The Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service (SES) of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region reported that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, mine explosions have affected 328 people in the Kharkiv region.
SES reported that the mine explosions killed 91 people and injured 237 in the Kharkiv region.
Since the start of the full-scale war, pyrotechnic units of Ukraine’s State Emergency Service have inspected about 7,000 hectares of the Kharkiv region and found and defused more than 94,000 explosive devices.
