UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Apr. 28 — In the morning, Russian forces attacked Chuhuiv, east of Kharkiv oblast, with three drones, killing one and injuring one civilian, said Halyna Minaeva, the mayor of the city.

The Kharkiv regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that the attack killed a 70-year-old man and injured another man, who was hospitalized with critical injuries. Later, the Prosecutor’s Office said that the injured man died.

According to prosecutors, Russians used V2U drones, which are equipped with artificial intelligence for autonomous search and target engagement, to attack Chuhuiv. The attack also damaged houses and cars.

Minaeva said to Suspilne Kharkiv that two men were walking along the road during the attack. 

“This drone is something new. It’s quite small, and even at the point of impact, the crater isn’t very deep. But look at the damage it’s caused,” she said.

Over the past day, Russian forces attacked three settlements in the Kharkiv oblast with four glide bombs, a Molniya drone, and an FPV drone, said the governor Oleh Syniehubov.

The Kharkiv regional police said that one Russian drone hit the road in Barvinkove, Izium district. Russian FPV also attacked a house in Odnorobivka, Bohodukhiv district.
