UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Dec 2 – Last month, Russian attacks in Kharkiv damaged 199 residential buildings, reported Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.
The Russian army has been often attacking Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second city, since the start of the full-scale invasion — the city is close to the border and the frontline. Russians use various weapons like glide bombs, strike drones, and missiles to target civilian and critical infrastructure there.
The Russian attacks damaged 3,248 apartment windows (3,230 of them now boarded up), 970 public windows (all boarded up), 703 balcony windows (471 boarded up), and 28 roofs (14 covered).
According to Terekhov, 14 of the 26 Russian attacks on the city in November caused damage to residential areas.
“Each time, up to 450 specialists from our municipal companies were engaged in dealing with the consequences of Russian strikes, using up to 50 units of equipment,” the mayor said.
On November 25, the Russian military attacked the center of Kharkiv with an S-400 missile, injuring 23 people, local authorities report.
