Kharkiv Oblast prosecutors investigate 12,700 war crimes and crimes related to the justification of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.
This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, Oleksandr Filchakov.
Among 12,600 war crimes, the experts investigate:
- 9,000 facts related to attacks on civilian infrastructure or shelling:
- 91 intentional murders;
- 347 illegal deprivation of liberty;
- 2119 looting;
- eight cases of rape.
In these cases, 87 persons were notified of suspicion, including 20 Russian servicemen, private military company mercenaries, and illegal armed formation “DNR” members.
In Kharkiv Oblast, 2,300 crimes related to threats to national security were recorded, and 496 persons were notified of the suspicion, including:
- 313 — for collaborative activity;
- 118 — for treason;
- 33 — for assistance to the aggressor state;
- 21 — for adjusting the fire.
The indictments were sent to the court against 242 persons, 90 of whom have already been convicted.
Fifty-six indictments for crimes related to the justification of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation have been sent to court: 44 people have been proven guilty, seven of them are Russian servicemen.
Currently, 67% of Kharkiv Oblast liberated territories have been fully inspected.
