UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, May 18 — There are still 377 civilians in Kupiansk, a city east of the Kharkiv Oblast, said Oleh Syniehubov, the governor of the region.
Since Feb. 3, the live map made by DeepState, an OSINT war monitoring group, has shown that Ukrainian forces liberated the southern part of Kupiansk, while the northern part was marked as occupied by Russians.
Syniehubov said that over the past day, military and evacuation teams have evacuated 52 people from the settlements in Kupiansk district where an evacuation has been announced.
The governor also said that earlier, the military evacuated a 12-year-old boy from Kupiansk, whose parents were hiding him from evacuation.
“Although there (in Kupiansk — ed.) haven’t been any children around for a long time. People are clearly hiding. But once they realize the danger, they agree to be evacuated,” said Syniehubov.
Over the past day, Russian forces attacked eight settlements in the region with two glide bombs and 68 drones of different types.
