UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug. 17 — On Aug. 16, at 9:31 p.m., Russian forces launched two glide bombs at the city of Izium in southeastern Kharkiv oblast, injuring 5 people, said Oleh Syniehubov, governor of the region.
According to Syniehubov, Russian glide bombs hit the area near the city’s center and the northwestern part of Izium. The governor said that Russian attacks injured two women, aged 49 and 61, and a 68-year-old man. He didn’t disclose the severity of their injuries.
Syniehubov also said that a 52-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman got the acute stress reaction following the Russian attack.
At 4:00 a.m. on Aug. 17, the Russian Geran kamikaze drone hit the city again. No casualties were reported. At the same time, local authorities said that these attacks damaged apartment buildings, houses, and the power grid.
Officials recorded power supply shortages in the city after the Russian attack.
Syniehubov also said that over the past day, Russian forces attacked the city of Zlatopil in southern Kharkiv oblast, injuring a 57-year-old man.
Yesterday, medics also provided medical aid to a 48-year-old woman. Russians injured her in the attack on Zemlianka in the Vochansk community on Aug. 15.
During the past day, Russian forces destroyed civil infrastructure, cars, businesses, and residential buildings across the Kharkiv region.
