UKRAINE, August 16 — Russia advances near the village of Pishchane on Kupiansk axis in the Kharkiv region, reports DeepState, a Ukrainian crowdsourced OSINT war monitoring service.
Russian attacks on Kupiansk axis intensified since May, along with the start of Russia’s new ground offensive from the north of the Kharkiv region.
Researchers marked an advancement of Russian forces north of the village to document changes on the frontline for August 15.
DeepState marked Pishchane (22 km from Kupiansk, and about 122 km from Kharkiv) as a Russian-occupied settlement on its interactive map on July 22, 2024. The latest Russian advancement within the area of the village was marked on August 13.
On August 10, according to DeepState, Russians gained ground southeast from the village, near Berestove and Novoselivske. The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) confirmed Russia’s gains west of Novoselivske in their August 11 assessment.
According to the General Staff’s report from 4:00 p.m., Russia keeps conducting assaults to push towards Lozova near Kupiansk axis.
It’s located in the direction of Borova, a settlement which have become an important vector of Moscow’s assault on Kharkiv region this July.
