UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Apr. 24 — Kharkiv regional police evacuated an elderly woman with disabilities from the settlement of the Chuhuiv district, which is suffering from Russian attack, said the official page of community police officers in the Kharkiv region.
The settlement is located 15 kilometers (9 miles) from the Russia-Ukraine border, police said.
The evacuation was conducted with the help of the Steel consortium, the coordinator and senior specialist of the Simba emergency evacuation department, and the charity organization Stezhka Nadii (“Path of hope” in English).
“Because of her age and health, the woman was unable to leave the dangerous area on her own, and every new Russian attack turned into a real challenge for her,” said the police.
The woman was safely transported to a safer area, where she will receive the necessary assistance.
Earlier, local authorities recorded the most intensive evacuation activity in the Kupiansk district in the Kharkiv oblast. In just two days, almost 200 people have evacuated from there.
