UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Nov. 2 — Russian forces attacked Kharkiv 153 times in October, the highest number of attacks since the start of 2026, Ihor Terekhov, the city mayor, reported. Russian strikes killed 22 people and injured 287 people, including 17 children.
Russian forces used jet-powered Shahed drones 54 times, launched 25 attacks with Banderol missiles, and carried out 24 strikes with first-person view (FPV) drones. Shahed drones, Molniya drones, unidentified UAVs, glide bombs, Tornado-S multiple launch rocket systems, and an Iskander-M ballistic missile were also used for the attacks on the city.
“They attacked both day and night. Very often, they targeted the same locations repeatedly with follow-up strikes, while emergency crews were still clearing rubble and rescuing people after previous attacks,” Terekhov said.
Russian attacks damaged railway infrastructure, energy facilities, and destroyed the last remaining Epicentr shopping mall in the city. Toward the end of the month, a strike also hit the Dafi shopping mall.
“Production and warehouse facilities, garment workshops, and vehicle service centers were also destroyed. Russia’s terror campaign also damaged the circus, a private lyceum, and a municipal outpatient clinic, which was struck while patients were inside,” Terekhov added.
Residential buildings, including houses and apartment buildings were damaged in the attacks.
