UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, May 28 — In the Kupiansk direction, the Ukrainian army repelled seven Russian attacks near Petropavlivka, Stepova, Novoselivka, Hrekivka and Nevske. In one of the areas, the Russian military has had partial success. Currently, two combat engagements are ongoing near Miasozharivka, reported the General Staff.

On May 26, the General Staff informed the Russian army almost doubled their activity in the Kupiansk direction.

On May 10, Russia launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the Kharkiv region, in the Vovchansk and Lyptsi directions. Military analysts and the Ukrainian military said Russia’s main goal in a new offensive would be to stretch Ukrainian troops and resources and force Ukraine to pull forces away from Donetsk Oblast and other directions, such as the Kupiansk axis.

Since the beginning of the day, there have been ten combat engagements in the Kharkiv direction. Ukrainian troops repelled six enemy attacks near Lyptsi, Starytsia, and Vovchansk.

Fighting is still ongoing near Starytsia and Tykhe. According to the General Staff, Ukrainian defenders are active and inflict losses on the Russians.

In total, the Russian army launched two missiles and 43 airstrikes on the territory of Ukraine using 50 guided bombs (KABs). The Russians also used 418 kamikaze drones for their attacks. In addition, the Russians fired more than 2,900 times at the positions of Ukrainian troops and different towns and villages using various types of weapons.
