UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Jun. 16 — American businessman and philanthropist Howard Buffet joined the evacuation mission of people from the Kupiansk district together with Kharkiv regional police, said the police press service.
Bilyi Yangol (White Angel in English) police special unit, together with a special police battalion and local police of the Kupiansk district, evacuated four people from the settlement in the district, including two people with disabilities.
According to the police press service, these evacuated people lost their houses because of Russian attacks.
Currently, all evacuees are in a safe place and receive all necessary help.
In December 2025, Buffet visited the outskirts of Kupiansk together with a Bilyi Yangol.
Buffett has also contributed to the restoration of facilities destroyed by Russian strikes, including one of the key centers of Ukrainian book publishing — the Factor-Druk printing house, which was damaged by a missile attack in May 2024.
Buffet is Ukraine’s largest private donor, with his contribution to the country roughly amounting to $1 billion. In 2024, he received the Presidential Award “National Legend of Ukraine.”
