UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug. 31 — The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) recorded Ukrainian forces advancing and repelling a Russian infiltration mission on two axes in eastern Kharkiv oblast, the ISW reported in its daily assessment.

The 2nd Corps Khartiia’s infantry cleared 2 square kilometers (0.8 square miles) of a forested area southwest of Zapadne and continued to advance west of Dvorichna (both north of Kupiansk), the ISW said.

Ukrainian forces previously seized 7.5 square kilometers (2.9 square miles) of windbreaks southwest of Dvorichna and advanced into northern Zapadne. 

Also, according to geolocated footage published on Aug. 30, Russian forces conducted an infiltration mission in the Borova direction, 30 kilometers (19 miles) south of Kupiansk. Ukrainian forces attacked a Russian soldier near Bohuslavka village in this area.

The ISW added that Ukrainian forces are attacking in several areas along the Ridkodub-Nove settlements in the Borova direction to expand the contested gray zone and identify weaknesses in Russian defenses.
