UKRAINE, LVIV, May 7 — On May 9, in Lviv, Ukrainian officials, Council of Europe, and foreign ministers from dozens of countries will probably sign a document to create a Special tribunal for Russian aggression against Ukraine, said Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty’s journalists, referring to the documents they’ve received.
In January 2023, the Ukrainian delegation, the European Commission, and the Council of Europe held the first meeting of the work group—Core Group—creating a Special tribunal for Russian aggression against Ukraine.
During its last meeting in February 2025, the Core Group defined the legal framework of the future tribunal and created key points of the “Schuman draft Statute”—the core legal text that will govern the functioning of the Special tribunal.
