Jul. 9 — Sweden additionally accumulated €124 ($142) million to the Ukrainian Energy Support Fund (UESF) that will allow Ukraine to purchase equipment to restore energy infrastructure and prepare the country for the heating season, reported the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
The UESF is the international mechanism for financial contribution to prepare, protect, and restore Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. In total, Sweden provided €386 ($441) million, while overall contributions from different countries and international organizations reached €2 ($2,288) billion.
Today, Russian forces launched another attack on Ukrainian energy infrastructure, causing power shortages in the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Sumy, Kherson regions.
Ukrenergo, state-owned energy-transmission operator, said that repair works at the impact sites have already begun.
“Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore power to all consumers as quickly as possible,” Ukrenergo reported.
