UKRAINE, DONETSK OBLAST, Oct. 8 — In the morning, Russian forces attacked Kramatorsk, a city in the Donetsk oblast, with a glide bomb, hitting two buses. The attack killed at least 30 and injured 18 people, the General Prosecutor’s Office said.

Kramatorsk is located 8 kilometers (5 miles) from the frontline. Russian soldiers constantly attack the city with artillery and glide bombs and launch attack drones, including first-person view drones, controlled by radio or fiber-optic cables.

During the attack, the transport was carrying passengers, the Kramatorsk city council said.

Some of the people who were killed have not yet been identified because of the severity of their injuries, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian President, added.

Vadym Filashkin, governor of the Donetsk oblast, said that since the security situation in the region has worsened, public transport stops working in Kramatorsk and Sloviansk (another frontline city in the Donetsk oblast).
