UKRAINE, Jul. 6 — Over the past week, Russia attacked Ukraine with nearly 2,200 kamikaze drones, more than 1,730 glide bombs and 106 missiles of different types, almost half of them ballistic missiles, reported Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine is capable of downing more than 90% of the kamikaze drones that Russia launches at the country, but still cannot intercept all ballistic missiles.
On Jul. 2, Russian troops carried out one of the largest attacks on Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital, since 2022. They targeted 33 locations in the city with 25 missiles and 12 kamikaze drones, killing 31 civilians and injuring 102 others, including four children.
On Jul. 6, four days after the previous attack, Russian troops attacked Kyiv again, launching 68 missiles and 351 drones of various types. The Russian attack killed 13 people and injured 56 others.
Zelenskyy also said Russian forces attack the Kharkiv, Sumy, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions almost every day.
