UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Jul. 20 — Russian forces launched glide bombs at the gas emergency crew, as workers were repairing gas leaks in buildings damaged by earlier Russian strikes in the Derhachi community, about 13 kilometers (8 miles) from the frontline, said the press service of the Kharkiv department of the Gazmerezhi, distribution company within Naftogaz group, Ukraine’s largest state-owned oil and gas company.

Russian glide bombs fell 50 meters (160 feet) away from the workers, who reacted immediately and had time to hide from the debris. No one was injured. However, the attack damaged the crew’s vehicle.

According to the press service, this is not the first attack on the Kharkiv department’s crews. Since the beginning of 2026, Russian attacks have damaged more than 20 pieces of crew’s specialized equipment.

This year, gas emergency crews have responded to more than 180 calls related to damage caused by the Russian attacks in the Kharkiv oblast.

Today, the Russian drone also attacked a service car of the energy workers’ crew in the Kharkiv oblast. The attack injured one worker, said the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
