On Dec. 12, the Peace Light of Bethlehem arrived in Kharkiv. It was installed at the railway station.
This is the second time railway workers have delivered “the light of peace” to 22 oblasts, and the cities of Konotop and Kramatorsk in less than a day. Now anyone can get fire for their homes at train stations in Ukrainian cities.
“This winter, the scout tradition has a special significance for Ukrainians. When all Ukrainians live under conditions of shelling and power outages, the glow of the Peace Light of Bethlehem will become a symbol of unity and indomitability in the struggle for our free and peaceful future,” Ukrainian Railways noted.
According to the State Border Guard Service, the Peace Light of Bethlehem arrived in Ukraine on Sunday. It was brought to Zakarpattia and then transferred to Kyiv. Ukrainian Railways deliver “the light of peace” to regional centers.
Every year, the Plast National Scout Organization of Ukraine representatives meet their comrades at the border with the European Union to bring a symbol of peace and love to Ukraine. This tradition was started in 1987 by the Austrian scouts, who bring fire from Bethlehem. “It is a call that everyone must stand up for peace and therefore consciously pass on the light.”
Earlier this month, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) found hundreds of thousands in cash, pro-Kremlin literature, and occupiers` dry rations in the Moscow-linked churches in Kharkiv Oblast. According to the spokesman of the SBU Regional Administration Vladyslav Abdula, one of the monks had a Russian passport.
