Kharkiv Oblast Under Attack: Russian Army Attacked at Least 9 Settlements in the region

Day 496 of the Russian full-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun. The adversary continued to shell Kharkiv Oblast with mortars, artillery, and air strikes.

Current situation in Ukraine

• The Ukrainian defense forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Bakhmut, Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, consolidating on the achieved frontiers, conducting artillery fire on the identified enemy targets, and carrying out counter-battery activities.
• In the Bakhmut sector, Ukrainian troops are conducting offensive operations north and south of the town of Bakhmut, continuing to pressure the enemy and driving them out of previously captured positions. Heavy fighting continues here.
• Tonight, Russia launched another strike with Iranian Shahed UAVs. The information will be published after the results of the attack are finalized.
• Within the last day, the Russian occupants used three anti-aircraft guided missiles from S-300 air defense systems and 22 Iranian Shahed strike UAVs against civilian infrastructure facilities in Sumy, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed 16 Shahed attack UAVs.
• In total, the enemy carried out 56 air strikes and fired 77 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and localities. There are dead and wounded among the civilian population and destruction and damage to civilian infrastructure, high-rise buildings and private homes.
• The adversary continues to focus its primary efforts on Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Maryinka axes, with more than 40 combat engagements occurring on July 3.

Slobozhanshchyna axis

The Russians conducted mortar and artillery attacks on Veterynarne, Budarky and Kozacha Lopan in Kharkiv Oblast.

Kupiansk axis

Petro-Ivanivka, Novomlynsk and Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region came under enemy artillery and mortar fire in the Kupyansk sector.

Kharkiv RMA

• At about 14:00, a shelling occurred in Cherneshchyna, Izium district, damaging the farm territory, without casualties.
• At 14.20, the occupants shelled Kozacha Lopan village in Kharkiv district. Residential buildings were damaged, fortunately, without casualties.
• At 14.30, the Russian army shelled Petropavlivka, Kupyansk district, without causing any casualties.
• At 17.40 there was a mortar attack on Kolisnykivka village in Kupyansk district. There were no casualties.
• The mine danger remains high. In Izium, a 32-year-old man tripped an explosive device, sustained mine-blast injuries and was hospitalized in serious condition.

Mine clearance

Mine clearance works are ongoing. State Emergency Service pyrotechnics defused 85 explosives.

• Nearly 72,000 explosives were defused since the full-scale invasion began. The deminers continue to inspect electricity lines and work at the locals’ request. More than 3,160 hectares of territory and 2,057 kilometers / 1 278 mi of power lines have been checked.
