May 20 — 3,506 foreign nationals are registered as entrepreneurs in the Kharkiv oblast, which ranks second among regions of Ukraine, reported OpenDataBot, a company that provides access to the registration data of Ukrainian companies and the court register.

According to OpenDataBot, one in four of all entrepreneurs is registered in Kyiv, amounting to 5,216 businesses owned by foreigners. Odesa oblast, with 3,295 businesses, was ranked third. 

Together, nearly 55% of all foreign citizens who have started businesses in Ukraine registered in these three regions.

OpenDataBot said that since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, an average of 1,896 new companies have been registered by citizens of other countries each year.

The largest group of foreign entrepreneurs is Russian citizens, with 4,593 businesses. Also among the leaders are citizens of Vietnam (1,994), Azerbaijan (1,635), Uzbekistan (1,469), and Moldova (1,118).

Most often, foreigners in Ukraine work in the retail sector — 6,346 businesses. Other popular sectors include warehousing (2,746), wholesale trade (1,732), the HoReCa sector (1,703), and the IT industry (1,624).

Earlier, OpenDataBot recorded 4,478 businesses across Kharkiv and the region, ranking second among regions near the frontline.
