UKRAINE, Nov 8 – Google has removed information about the location of Ukrainian military facilities and systems from its maps, reported the head of the National Security and Defense Council’s Center for Countering Disinformation, Andrii Kovalenko.
Google did not respond to Ukraine’s request to remove the published information about the location of Ukrainian military facilities. However, after the public outcry, Google representatives assured that they were already working to remedy the situation.
“We are appealing to them to fix it quickly, but it was on their weekend… The Russians are already actively distributing these pictures,” Kovalenko said.
Andrii Kovalenko assured us that military facilities and systems are no longer displayed on maps and stated that this [persumably exposure of Ukraine’s military information on Google — ed.] will not happen again.
