UKRAINE, MAR 24 — Russian troops advanced near Kamianka and Topolia, two settlements of the Kupiansk district, reported war monitoring OSINT project DeepState on March 23.

“As of now, the enemy applies mainly infantry, which they use to hold already occupied territories, accumulate more forces, and crawl further to extend the zone of control,” DeepState wrote.

On the Kupiansk axis, Russia tries to reach and occupy Kupiansk and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, a major logistics hub for the surrounding regions.

On March 24, according to the General Staff’s reports, Russians attacked the Ukrainian army positions four times in the area of Petropavlivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Zahryzove—as of 4:08 p.m., three combat clashes were ongoing.

Russian attacks on Kupiansk intensified in September, as Moscow’s troops ramped up the assaults towards the Oskil River in that region and managed to reach the outskirts of the city.

While the Ukrainian army fought them off Kupiansk itself, Russia has gained ground in several sections of the Kupiansk axis since autumn, in particular in the area of Dvorichna, a settlement on the right bank of Oskil.
