UNESCO will allocate $50,000 for the conservation of the Hryhoriy Skovoroda Museum in Skovorodynivka in Kharkiv Oblast, reports the Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko.

Another UAH450,000 (~ $12,000) will be allocated from the regional budget by the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration for the scientific and project works necessary for the restoration of the building. 

Skovoroda National Literary and Memorial Museum was destroyed by the Russian army in May. According to preliminary estimates, the complete reconstruction of the museum requires more than UAH112 million ($3.03 million).

The Kalush Orchestra donated more than UAH300,000 (~$8 000) for the restoration of the Hryhoriy Skovoroda Museum as part of the Save Ukrainian Culture project.

Save Ukrainian Culture is a joint project of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine and Vodafone Ukraine aimed at raising charitable funds for the restoration and preservation of cultural heritage in Ukraine, which has suffered as a result of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine since February 24, 2022.
