UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Jan 21 — Combat continues near Dvorichna, where the DeepState war monitoring services indicated the advance of Russian troops on January 20, said Viktor Trekhubov, the spokesman for the “Khortytsia” group of forces.

“Russians are regularly trying to get over the river [to the right bank of the Oskil River — ed.], using small watercraft and trying to accumulate forces enough to conduct assault operations, — Ukrainian troops intercept them with drones and clear the area when they are on [the right bank],” Trekhubov said.

In autumn, the Russian offensive on the Kupiansk axis picked up pace, with Moscow’s troops breaking into once-occupied Kupiansk and Ukraine’s forces fighting them off in November.

Currently, the Russian army has reached the Oskil River near Dvorichna, north of Kupiansk, and Krukliakivka, south of the city, during autumn. General Staff reports 10 combat clashes on the Kupiansk axis, including near Dvorichna, just over the past day.

Capturing Kupiansk and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, important logistics, railway hubs for the region and east of Ukraine, are one of the primary goals of Russia’s offensive in this area.
