Ukrainian military fought off 15 Russian attacks in the Lyman-Kupiansk direction and destroyed 23 equipment units. 

Ukraine’s Eastern Group of Forces spokesman, Ilya Yevlash, reported on it during a national telemarathon on October 16. 

He said that among the equipment destroyed by Ukrainian forces were eight T-72 tanks, four BMP-1, two BMP-2, and two MTLBs (Russian APCs). Also, two mortars of 120 and 82 mm were destroyed. 

“A particularly valuable “catch” for a unit of 25th Airborne Brigade was an enemy helicopter, Mi-8. The helicopter flew in the damage zone of a portable air defense system and was destroyed, along with its personnel,” said Yevlash. 

Yevlash also reported that Ukrainian defenders destroyed the Pole-21 electronic countermeasures station, which Russians used to block satellite communication and disrupt information transmissions.
