UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Apr 01 — The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office has approved and sent to court an indictment against three Russian servicemen for violation of the laws and customs of war and premeditated murder by a group of persons, reported the press service of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the investigation, on May 3, 2022, servicemen of the military unit No. 54096 of the Russian Armed Forces, citizens of Dagestan, aged 33, 23, and 25, arrived in the occupied village of Makarove, Bohodukhiv district. They started shooting near an agricultural enterprise, frightening a 70-year-old local security guard who remarked to them. Then, the Russian military left but returned on May 5.

Law enforcement officials said that a 33-year-old soldier got out of the car and fired two shots in the back of the guard, who was on his way to work. Two others were watching to make sure there were no witnesses to the murder.

“After that, the occupants began kicking the victim, checking whether he was dead. After making sure that the man was dead, they left the site,” reported the press service of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

The accused are currently on the wanted list. They will be tried in absentia in the Derhachi District Court of the Kharkiv Oblast.

The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office approved and sent to court an indictment against a 33-year-old Russian military officer on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder committed by a group of persons (Art. 2, Art. 28, Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), and two other servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces aged 23 and 25 on the fact of aiding and abetting a crime (Art. 27, Part 5, Art. 28, Part 2, Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
