UKRAINE, KHARKIV REGION, May 17 — At about 12:30 p.m., Russians dropped three aerial bombs on Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi in the Kharkiv region, injuring a 74-year-old woman, reported the press service of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
The Russian bomb attack also damaged one of the premises of the hospital building, residential buildings, and outbuildings.
General Staff reported that, over the past day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled six Russian attacks in the Kupiansk direction. In some areas, Ukrainian troops are improving the tactical situation.
They noted, another combat engagement is ongoing in the Krokhmalne—Berestove area, but the situation is under control.
On May 10, Russia launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the Kharkiv Oblast, opening another front of advance in the region. The border communities came under heavy Russian bombardment and artillery shelling.
Kharkiv Oblast Governor Oleh Syniehubovhe Russians shelled the village of Synelnykove from multiple rocket launchers, killing a 35-year-old resident and injuring two men, aged 35 and 33 and damaging said that, over the past day, t private houses.
Russians also dropped a munition from a drone on a village of Krasne, Kharkiv district, injuring an 86-year-old man.
During the evacuation of people from Vovchansk, the first major city in the way of the Russian new offensive in the Kharkiv region, the Russian shelling injured six people: four medical workers, a civilian, and the head of the Vovchansk’s administration. Russians also injured a 52-year-old man during the shelling of Vovchansk.
Evacuation is currently underway in the region. According to Oleh Syniehubov, police, volunteers, and rescuers evacuated 9,000 people from the border communities of Kharkiv Oblast.
