UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Jun. 29 — In the afternoon on Jun. 29, Russian forces attacked the Kholodnohirskyi district of Kharkiv with glide bombs, said Oleh Syniehubov, the governor of the Kharkiv oblast. Gwara Media went to the impact site to document the consequences of the airstrikes.
Currently, Syniehubov reported that the Russian attack killed one person and injured 10 people. Two women, aged 65 and 20 years old, and a 54-year-old man were among the first people who got hospitalized.
Later, the State Emergency Service reported about 12 injured people.
The Russians attacked Kharkiv with two glide bombs, with one of them striking a road, said Bohdan Hladkykh, head of the Kharkiv City Council Emergency Department, to journalists.
“Among the wounded are employees of nearby businesses, pedestrians, and people who were on a tram near the epicenter of the explosion,” Hladkykh added.
He also said that one of the injured was in a residential area, where a second glide bomb hit the yard of a house but did not explode.
The person who died was a young woman, said Ihor Terekhov, Kharkiv’s Mayor. The governor Syniehubov confirmed this to journalists.
Syniehubov also said that one of the injured civilians is in critical condition now. Doctors are providing her with all the necessary medical care.
The governor said that the area in front of the train station was also reportedly targeted by the Russian airstrike, but this information was not confirmed. He said that they found the debris from the previous explosion there.
He also warned that there may be further launches of Russian glide bombs toward Kharkiv.
