UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug 2 — Around 9:00 a.m., the Russian army hit a bus with people in the Derhachi community with a drone, reported Oleh Syniehubov, governor of Kharkiv Oblast.

Towns and villages of the Kharkiv Oblast come under massive Russian artillery shelling and air strikes often, even more so since Russia launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the region in the Vovchansk and Lyptsi directions in May.

The Russian drone strike injured six civilians, five had moderate injuries and one had severe injuries. They are in the hospital.

Oleksandr Kulik, head of the information department of the Derhachi City Council, told Gwara Media that the bus was traveling in the area of Velyki Prokhody and was carrying builders of fortifications.

Tamaz Hambarashvili, the head of the Vovchansk City Military Administration, told Radio Svoboda on May 13 that fortifications were being built around Vovchansk, Kharkiv region, but due to constant shelling, it was not easy.

The head of the Vovchansk City Military Administration said that the fortifications were built before the current offensive, but perhaps “not so tightly,” because of its proximity to the state’s border.
