UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, May 24 — Over the past two days, the Russian army killed one child and injured three others in Kharkiv and the region, reported the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine has affected 378 children in the Kharkiv Oblast. The Kharkiv Oblast is the second among Ukrainian regions in terms of the number of children affected by the war.
On the afternoon of May 25, Russian forces dropped two guided bombs [KABs] on a construction hypermarket in Kharkiv, killing 18, including a 12-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy.
On the same day, the Russian shelling of the city center injured a 14-year-old boy. On May 26, Russian shelling of Bohuslavka, Izium district, Kharkiv region, injured two boys aged nine and 12.
Evacuation is currently underway in the region as the Russians launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the Kharkiv region on May 10. Towns and villages of the Kharkiv Oblast, especially border settlements, came under massive Russian artillery shelling and airstrikes.
Police, volunteers, and rescuers evacuated 11,142 people from the border communities of Kharkiv Oblast.
