UKRAINE, Sep. 25 — Since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion in 2022, Russia has killed 744 and injured 2,904 Ukrainian children, Dmytro Lubinets, Ukraine’s ombudsman, said.

According to Lubinets, another 2,363 Ukrainian children are considered missing.

The ombudsman said that his office recorded 23 cases of war-related sexual violence against children.

Lubinets added that around 1,6 million Ukrainian children could live in Russian-occupied territories. 

“Children are issued Russian documents, placed with Russian families, subjected to propaganda, and stripped of their Ukrainian identity,” he said.

He also said that the Russians are forcing minors to complete military training, after which the young people are enlisted in the Russian army.

In June, the Kharkiv local prosecutors said that the Russians killed 113 children in the Kharkiv oblast.
