KHARKIV OBLAST, UKRAINE, May 9 — The Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine killed 546 children and injured more than 1,330, according to official information from juvenile prosecutors.
In the Kharkiv oblast, the Russian aggression has affected 365 children. The Kharkiv Oblast is the second among Ukrainian regions in terms of the number of children affected by the war. Most children were killed or injured in the Donetsk region — 530.
Kharkiv Governor Oleh Syniehubov reported that Russians attacked the Kharkiv region with various weapons — missiles, glide bombs, and drones.
In particular, on May 8, the Russian troops hit Kharkiv’s Saltivskyi district with a missile or drone, injuring seven people, including four children.
According to Oleh Syniehubov, a 15-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy had severe injuries. One of them was diagnosed with head and lung trauma; he will probably be undergoing foot amputation. Another 14-year-old boy had moderate injuries. The Russian shelling also injured an eight-year-old girl. She has moderate injuries.
