UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Oct 7 — Over the past day, Russian troops lost 71 troops in the Kharkiv direction, reported the “Kharkiv” group of forces.

Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

The “Kharkiv” reported that over the past day, in the Kharkiv direction, the Russian army conducted five airstrikes using ten glide bombs (KABs), 43 kamikaze drones, and fired 306 times at the positions of the Defense Forces.

Near Hlyboke, the Russian military is trying to control the situation from the air. Not far from Lukiantsi, the Russian army remotely mined the area with anti-personnel mines at night using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Near Tykhe, the Russians moved their personnel to the frontlines, “Kharkiv” wrote.

In Vovchansk, the Russian military conducts active reconnaissance via drones, restores the communications, and conducts logistical activities. The Russian army also used TOS-1A in the city [a 220 mm multiple rocket launcher system that has thermobaric ammunition – ed].

According to “Kharkiv,” over the past day, Russians lost 76 units of weapons and military equipment, including 16 artillery systems, 13 vehicles, four special vehicles, and 43 drones.
