UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Nov 15 — The Russian army led 11 assaults on the Kupiansk axis and four assaults on the Kharkiv axis in Kharkiv Oblast, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in their morning briefing.
In the east and southeast of Kharkiv Oblast, Moscow aims to seize Kupiansk and Kupiansk-Vyzlovyi it already occupied in 2022 and take control of railway infrastructure there. North of the region, the Russian army wants to push towards Kharkiv closely enough to be able to reach the city with tube artillery and create “a buffer zone” for Belgorod Oblast.
On the Kupiansk axis, the General Staff reports, Ukrainian troops repelled “all Russian assaults” near Holubivka, Petropavlivka, Pischane, Hlushkivka, Zelenyi Hai, Zahryzove, Kruhliakivka, Pershotravneve, and Lozova.
On November 13, Russian troops attempted to enter Kupiansk and take positions there but were stopped by the Ukrainian army, according to the General Staff.
Kharkiv Oblast Governor Oleh Syniehubov said on November 15 that the authorities believe a Russian sabotage group entered the territory of Kupiansk’s industrial zone on the left bank of the Oskil River. “Soldiers [there] report the group is destroyed. [Military conducts] the sweep of the area where Russian troops might be,” Syniehubov said.
On the Kharkiv axis, Russians attacked near Vovchansk and Hlyboke settlements.
