The body was sent to the Kharkiv Regional Bureau of Forensic Medicine for forensic examination, Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported.
On July 26, law enforcement officers exhumed the body of another victim of Russia’s armed aggression in Tsyrkuny, Kharkiv region. Criminal proceedings have been opened over violating the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder.
“According to the investigation, in March 2022, an 81-year-old local resident was killed during a Russian shelling of the village of Tsyrkuny, Kharkiv district,” the statement said.
During the shelling, the man was in his own house, which was hit by a missile. He died on the spot from his injuries.
Tsyrkuny in Kharkiv Oblast
This village is one of the most affected by Russian shelling in Kharkiv Oblast. It is located three kilometers from Kharkiv Ring Road.
Due to the mined and affected fields in Tsyrkuny, farmers and industrial enterprises do not work. Therefore, there are no taxes and no profit. So the community cooperates with charitable foundations. The funds for restoration are partly taken from the state budget, partially provided by partners.
