UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Oct 10 — During the week of October 2-9, sappers demined more than 291 hectares of the Kharkiv region. In total, explosive experts defused 2,021 explosive devices, reported the Civil Defense Department of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
Kharkiv Oblast is one of the most heavily mined regions. More than 570,000 hectares of land in the Kharkiv region need to be inspected for mines and explosive devices after the Russian occupation.
During the week, pyrotechnic units inspected more than 237 hectares of agricultural land, almost four kilometers of highway sections, more than 40 meters of gas pipeline, more than five and a half kilometers of power lines, and checked two facilities.
The sappers also cleared 32 households of mines. In addition, 6,257 homes, including 6,126 homes for the second time, were reconnected to the power grid.
On October 9, pyrotechnics cleared almost 47 hectares of territory, more than 38 hectares of agricultural land, one facility, more than 300 meters of road sections, and more than a kilometer of power lines. They defused 355 explosive devices throughout the day.
