UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, July 3 — The Russian military continues to attack in the Kharkiv direction. There were eight combat clashes near the settlements of Vovchansk and Hlyboke over the past day, reported the General Staff.

Russia started their new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

In the Kupiansk direction, there were 13 clashes over the past day. Defense forces repelled Russian attacks near Synkivka in the Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region. Almost 80% of all the clashes in the Kupiansk direction were near Synkivka.

The Russians hit Mali Prokhody, Lyptsi, Vesele, Neskuchne, Tykhe, Vovchanski Khutory, Starytsia, Sotnytskyi Kozachok, Synkivka with air strikes.

Yevhen Ivanov, the deputy head of the Kharkiv Military Administration, said that the Russian Federation had not abandoned its plans for the offensive in the Kharkiv region.

The official noted that the Russian military will look for new opportunities to advance deeper into the Kharkiv region.
