UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug 2 — In total, since the beginning of the day, there have been five combat clashes in the Kharkiv direction, reported the General Staff.

Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

Ukrainian troops repelled four attacks near Hlyboke, Tykhe, and Vovchansk. However, one combat is still ongoing.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops tried to attack Ukrainian positions near Stelmakhivka twice. Ukrainian troops repelled all attacks.

“Kharkiv” group of forces reported that in the Kharkiv direction, the Russian army evacuated wounded from Vovchansk and carried out an internal rotation of personnel.

In the nine-story block, the Russian army is preparing for assaults. They are building up personnel in the basements to continue further attacks on the Ukrainian defense positions.
