UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, June 18 — Russian forces lost 168 troops in the Kharkiv direction over the past day. The Ukrainian Defense Forces also destroyed a Russian tank, an armored combat vehicle, and two cars. They damaged another tank, an artillery system, and a car, reported the General Staff.
On May 10, Russia launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the Kharkiv region, in the Vovchansk and Lyptsi directions. Currently, the frontline is reportedly stabilized by Ukraine’s troops, and heavy fighting is ongoing.
Over the past day, there were 136 combat engagements along the entire frontline. Russian troops lost about 1,230 people.
The General Staff reported, Ukrainian troops destroyed 16 Russian tanks, 20 armored combat vehicles, 32 artillery systems, 20 operational and tactical unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), one missile, 40 vehicles, and seven pieces of special equipment.
In the Kharkiv direction, the Russian army continues two attacks near Vovchansk, and the situation is under control, military reports. Since the beginning of the day, there have been four combat engagements in the Kupiansk direction, including near the villages of Stepova Novoselivka, Pishchane, and Berestove.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that in the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops are conducting offensives, trying to break through the defense of the Ukrainian army, and capture essential areas or settlements that impact the strength of the Ukrainian defense.
