KHARKIV OBLAST, UKRAINE, Apr 19 — Over the past day, the Russian army hit Vovchansk, Strilecha, and Borova in the Kharkiv region with airstrikes, according to the morning report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As the General Staff reported, there were 86 combat clashes along the frontline over the past day. Russia launched 11 missile strikes and 78 airstrikes and fired 82 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various towns and villages.

Russian troops did not conduct any assaults in the Kupiansk direction over the past day. However, the Russians are not leaving the goal of occupying Kupiansk, as it is a logistics hub between Kharkiv and Luhansk oblasts, and seizing it would allow the Russian army to boost its supply efforts. Yesterday, Russians renewed their assaults on the Kupiansk axis after a pause for the rotation of military units in the area.

In the Slobozhanskyi direction, in the border areas, the Russian military conducts intense sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to more dangerous directions and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod Oblast.

In total, the Russian army fired mortars and artillery at more than 120 settlements in the Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts.
