The Northern and North-Eastern territories of Kharkiv Oblast are the most frequently shelled, with 27 settlements recorded as suffering from hostile attacks, including Vovchansk and Kupiansk.
On Friday, 2 June, a meeting of the Kharkiv Regional Defence Board was held to discuss further work in the dangerous areas, said Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv RMA during a briefing.
“In the Kupiansk direction, the front line actually lies close to Masiutivka. Shelling is taking place there almost around the clock,” he noted.
Evacuation is currently being considered in Vovchansk and in Kupyansk community. The last evacuation of children was successful – 79 children were taken to safer places. There are plans to evacuate 2-3 settlements.
At the same time, the authorities are facing problems: after the evacuation, parents return their children back to the areas from which they were taken. In particular, about a month and a half ago, parents brought a teenager back to help in the garden. The child died as a result of Russian shelling.
