The monument was placed next to Kharkiv Regional Palace of Children and Youth Creativity.

The memorial features sculptures of a boy and a girl. Their figures rise above a granite block symbolizing an explosion. The children are depicted as angels with burnt wings. They are made of bronze and have a special coating that provides additional durability and metal shades. The total height of the composition is about five metres.
