UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Jul. 29 — Laura Loomer, American influencer, visited Kharkiv and met Adrii Biletskyi, the commander of the 3rd Army Corps, to record an interview, said the press office of the corps.
Laura Loomer is a far-right political activist and influencer popular among supporters of the US President Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement.
“General Biletskyi gave me a tour of the city and showed me Rymarska Street, where Ukrainians fought their first armed battle against the Russians in 2014,” Loomer wrote on her X (Twitter).
Previously, Loomer y held a critical position towards Ukraine. She has often argued against the US providing financial support to Kyiv.
On Jul. 20, Loomer arrived in Ukraine and said she wanted to verify for herself if the claims being spread about the country were just propaganda.
“Seeing the devastation by the ballistic missiles and then also having to go to the bomb shelter myself – it really put things into perspective for me and opened up my eyes about the Ukrainian people having a right to defend themselves from Russia’s aggression,” Loomer said about her visit to Ukraine during the interview for Ukrainska Pravda.
On Jul. 24, Loomer publicly apologized to Ukrainians for spreading false claims about Ukraine during another interview with Marichka Padalko, a Ukrainian journalist.
Loomer also interviewed Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian President, during her visit to Ukraine.
