UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Dec 26 — This year, Russian attacks on the city of Kharkiv killed 98 residents, nine of whom were children, said governor Oleh Syniehubov during a briefing.

The Russian army has been often attacking Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second city, since the start of the full-scale invasion — the city is close to the border and the frontline. Russians use various weapons like glide bombs, strike drones, and missiles to target civilian and critical infrastructure there. 

In addition, Russian attacks have injured 1,156 people, including 112 children. In total, 420 people died in the Kharkiv region this year, including 18 children, and 2,641 people were injured, including 196 children.

Also, Oleh Syniehubov said that 3,982 Russian attacks have been recorded in the Kharkiv Oblast since the beginning of 2024.

Russian troops attacked the Kharkiv and Kharkiv region with 441 missiles, 1,433 glide aerial bombs (KABs), and 264 drones. They also conducted 465 strikes using Grad MLRS, 426 artillery attacks, 133 mortar attacks, and 820 strikes using other types of weapons.
