45 Soldiers Returned from Russian Captivity, Including 3 from Kharkiv Region

While five servicemen were detained while defending Kharkiv Oblast from Russian invaders.

This is a huge joint effort of the Office of the President, the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, including the Eastern Regional Center in Kharkiv.

Among them are two officers, 41 privates and sergeants, a civilian employee of Azovstal and a territorial defense officer from Kherson.

“We are bringing back the defenders of Mariupol and Azovstal. There are wounded soldiers. We also have soldiers from Donetsk, including Bakhmut, Zaporizhzhya and Kharkiv directions… Each of them is a hero. We do not stop. All Ukrainians should be home. And they will be. Glory to our heroes! Ukrainians are the highest value of the state!” commented Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

Ukrainian children illegally taken to Russia, 6-year-old Renat and 10-year-old Varvara, also returned home. Their mother, a combat medic, was released during a large exchange in October 2022.

She had been waiting for the return of her children, whom Russia had illegally deported in an attempt to cover up the abduction.
